About Leonie Simpson Design
If there’s one thing you take away from Leonie Simpson’s playful, understated body of work - it’s this:
Object as Art.
Leonie launched her brand right after graduating The Design Centre, where she worshipped at the altar of dual deities; jewellery and object design. Now she makes contemporary jewellery for the everyday person; unassuming yet meaningful design with a focus on wearability.
Using traditional methods, like wax carving; Leonie’s intention is an exploration, an enquiry of the intersections of tradition, culture and craft. There’s a space inside of this that is minimalist, refined and unpretentious - and this is the space that the work assuredly occupies.
