Karin Dovel Ceramics
Karin Dovel is a Sydney based ceramic artist. Originally from Chicago, she moved to Australia in 2010, and is now an Australian citizen. Interested in drawing and sculpting, she studied figure drawing at the Art Institute of Chicago, then went on to university to major in ceramics. She received her Bachelor's in Fine Arts from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1994. Using coil-building, slipcasting, and other hand-building techniques, she creates both functional and sculptural pieces.
