Ceri Muter is a contemporary arm knitter, intriguingly knitting using only her arms, no needles. She has been arm knitting since 2013, is a workshop facilitator, fibre art maker and diverse creative maker.
She is inspired by the connection between individual expression, the handmade process and design. Ceri believes that by expressing the essence of who we are through handmade creations, mindful creativity and sensory experiences we enhance every day and well-being.
Ceri approaches her workshops with enthusiasm and gratitude. Her workshops aim to empower people with their innate creative potential and cultivate an engaging arm knitting group enriched with like-minded sharing and relaxed, playful learning. Where everyone is inspired by each other and feels a sense of achievement taking home a completed arm knitted scarf.
Exploring her practice in curious forms and improvising with natural fibres, unexpected materials and repurposed findings, Ceri designs and creates artful statement pieces that are expressive and original. She finds creative possibilities flow organically while she dwells in stillness and is being attentive to moments.
A contemporary collection of jewellery also evolved from her insatiable inquisitiveness and experimental process. Ceri’s jewellery reflects individual style, imparting feelings of positivity, enthusiasm, confidence and admiration.
