Artist's description:

Semi Abstract of Sulphur Crested Cockatoo.

Cockatoos of any breed always make me smile. I just love them. Even though they can be pests chewing the balcony I remember growing up and we had a pair of wild ones knock at the window with their beak every afternoon asking for seed between 3 and 3.30pm. They are one of the most intelligent species along with many parrots.

This piece was created with the idea of these birds and the memory of training cockatoos for free flight technique. My daughter now yells out cockatoo (she is 2 yrs old ) insisting she wants to cuddle them. It sounds to me she will be a bird lover just like her mum.

It has been finished with a double layer of semi gloss varnish, painted edges in white and signed back and front with wire for hanging.

"Welcome to my world, I am Amanda Skye. I come from a small sweet little town called Helensburgh in the Northern Illawarra region of NSW surrounded by beautiful bush, coastlines and wildlife which you can probably tell is the inspiration to many of my pieces.

I've had an eventful life of careers starting in the zoological industry to travel agency to real estate and interior styling , very different from each other however I have always been a painter ,it is the air that I breath, I could not imagine my life without paint on my hands every day".
