Artist's description:

To be honest when painting this back ground I thought I would paint a white swan but when my paint brush hit the canvas I felt it needed to be a beautiful flamingo and I'm glad I went with my gut.

Flamingoes are a pretty amazing bird. They seem to capture so many hearts with their beautiful plumage and its pretty features. The word "flamenco" is the Spanish and Latin word for flamingo which means fire, and refers to the bright colour of the birds' feathers.

Acrylic on gallery stretched canvas framed in a natural Australian Oak frame. Flamingo has been sealed with a double layer of semi Matt varnish and is signed both back and front (front in the bottom right hand corner ).

"Welcome to my world, I am Amanda Skye. I come from a small sweet little town called Helensburgh in the Northern Illawarra region of NSW surrounded by beautiful bush, coastlines and wildlife which you can probably tell is the inspiration to many of my pieces.

I've had an eventful life of careers starting in the zoological industry to travel agency to real estate and interior styling , very different from each other however I have always been a painter ,it is the air that I breath, I could not imagine my life without paint on my hands every day".
