LEARN WHEEL THROWN POTTERY & GLAZING with Potter Panks (2 SESSIONS OVER 2 WEEKS/1 STUDENT)
Learn the techniques and basics of wheel thrown pottery and glazing in this introductory workshop with local ceramicist and lead potter at Hypmotive hub, Jemini from Potter Panks.
**This workshop will be two (2) sessions, over two (2) consecutive weeks**
The booking price is per person.
Week 1 session: Wheel Throwing Introduction and Techniques
Time: 1.5-2 hours
Start Time: 6:15pm
In this session you will learn the basics of wheel throwing, including how to set up your wheel and throwing techniques where you will throw up to 2-4 pieces.
Towards the end of the session you will choose 2 ceramics pieces that you will work on in the second session.
Week 2 session: Glazing & Decorating
Time: 1-1.5 hours
Start Time: 6:15pm
In this session, Jem will guide you through all the information you need to understand the glazing process. You will be guided through creating your own unique design, choosing your colour palette and then decorating your ceramic pieces.
- This is suitable for beginners, with no experience is necessary.
- Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your booking time to sign in.
- All materials.
- An apron.
What to wear & bring:
- A face mask.
- Comfortable clothes.
- A hair tie for long hair or a headband/clip for short hair to keep your hair comfortably away from your face.
- An old towel.
- Having short finger nails is also recommended as it makes it easier to work with the clay while throwing!
What you will take home:
Once you are complete with session 2, we will apply the finishing touches of clear glaze and firing. Your new ceramic works of art will then be ready to pick up from Hypmotive hub approximately 2-3 weeks from the end of your last session.

In the event that your ceramic ware cracks during the final firing process, we will discuss with you what the options are such as repair and what that will entail. As we take great care in the overall production process, we hope this will not occur, however it’s important we let you know that this may occur.
If you need to cancel your workshop booking we are unable to provide a refund however you are able to transfer the booking to someone else.
If you are unable or forget to attend, or to transfer the booking to another person, the booking at that stage is non refundable and non-transferrable.
